Comb and oil treatment
Coat the hair with olive or almond oil. Some suggest that you coat the comb instead of the hair, either way will work, but you should test both methods yourself to see which works better for you.
Using a hair clip, separate the hair into small sections and work one section at a time. Make sure you have plenty of light to be able to see what you’re doing. Use running hot water to rinse out the comb as you go.
Once this oil and comb treatment is complete, use your child’s regular shampoo, rinse, and repeat. Wash the towels you used right away and clean out the lice comb.
A good way to clean out the comb is to boil it in water for 10 minutes. You can also soak it in vinegar for 30 minutes.
Do this every day for a week. Then, keep combing the hair the following two weeks to make sure the lice are completely gone.
